Tribute to motorist killed in crash near Newtown

Tributes have been paid to a motorist who was killed in a road crash in Powys.

Andrew Lloyd, 21, of Forden, Welshpool, died last Saturday on the A483 near Newtown. Dyfed-Powys Police have appealed for witnesses.

Family and friends described him as a "caring, fun loving, outgoing son and an absolute gentleman".

Mr Lloyd was a keen footballer who had played for several local teams.

"Andrew will be remembered as one of the nicest young men you will ever meet," said the tribute.

The police said the crash happened at 22:30 GMT and have asked for any witnesses to call the force's policing unit on 101.
