Woman cut free from car after crash near Meifod

A woman has been cut free from the wreckage of her car after it crashed down an embankment in Powys.

The alarm was raised near Meifod, close to Welshpool, at 07:45 GMT on Monday.

Firefighters from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service freed the woman following the crash.

The fire service said the woman was taken to hospital, but it was not known how seriously injured she was.
