A470 reopens in Powys after gas tanker overturns

The A470 has been cleared after a 23-mile stretch in Powys was closed due to an overturned a gas tanker.

The incident between Llanbrynmair and Dolfach, near Machynlleth, happened at about 13:00 GMT on Sunday, and diversions were put in place.

The road was eventually reopened at about 19:00 GMT after recovery work was completed.

Police said the lorry, which was the only vehicle involved, had ended up on its side in a field.
