Brecon river search for missing man resumes

River Usk, Brecon The alarm was raised for the missing man shortly after 04:00 BST on Friday

A river search for a missing 54-year-old man in Brecon has resumed.

The man who is said to be from the local area is believed to have fallen into the fast-flowing River Usk near Llanfaes Bridge early on Friday.

Police, fire crews and mountain rescue teams joined the search after the alarm was raised just after 04:00 BST.

The search was postponed on Friday afternoon due to dangerous conditions but resumed on Saturday with Brecon Mountain Rescue leading the operation.
