Two students cut off by tide at Aberystwyth rescued

Two students were rescued by coastguards and lifeboat crews after being cut off by the tide at Aberystwyth.

They were taken to hospital with suspected hypothermia after the call-out at 18:46 GMT on Friday.

Two coastguard rescue crews and lifeboats from Borth and Aberystwyth helped take them to safety after a member of the public raised the alarm.

It is understood they had been walking on the beach beneath Constitution Hill.
