Aberystwyth University creating 27 new academic posts
Nearly 30 new jobs are being created at Aberystwyth University in a recruitment drive for academic staff.
The university is looking to employ lecturers, senior lecturers and readers, which is a top academic post.
The 27 jobs will fill positions in a variety of departments, including geography, international politics, computer science and Welsh history.
The university said it was one of the most ambitious recruitment campaigns it had ever undertaken.
Vice-chancellor Prof April McMahon said: "Our priorities are to enhance and advance our international reputation, based on cutting edge, interdisciplinary research in a broad range of academic areas, together with the provision of world class opportunities for learning and teaching.
"These 27 academic posts represent an invitation to join a world class university in a world class environment and help us as we shape our future."
The posts cover the academic areas of geography and earth sciences; international politics; computer science; history and Welsh history; theatre, film and television studies; psychology; management and business; sport and exercise science; English and creative writing; and law and criminology.
The university said the announcement represented a significant investment and a firm commitment to the further development of its academic departments and student experience.
The university employs 806 academic staff at the moment.
