Warning of River Wye swimming danger during Royal Welsh

Police are warning people about the dangers of swimming in the River Wye as the Royal Welsh Show approaches.

An increase in the number of swimmers is expected due to the tens of thousands of visitors the agricultural event attracts.

But Dyfed Powys Police have warned swimmers to be particularly mindful of the "alarming" numbers of young people who drown each year around the country.

The Royal Welsh Show takes place at Llanelwedd, Powys, from 19-22 July.
