Long tailbacks after A55 crashes in Conwy

3 September 2014 Last updated at 12:13 BST

A section of the A55 remains closed in Conwy county causing traffic tailbacks and a long detour for some motorists after two crashes.

It is not known when the road between Glan Conwy and Llandudno Junction will reopen, affecting junctions 19-18.

A 30-mile (48km) diversion led to hold-ups around the wider area.

A man in his 20s was left in a critical condition after a van collided with a recovery vehicle dealing with a separate crash.

Here is footage of the tailbacks as motorists were forced to take alternative routes.
