The father of gymnast Frankie Jones described her Commonwealth Games performance as "wonderful".
Colin Jones saw his daughter win six medals in Glasgow - five silver and one gold - with the latter coming in the final routine of her career.
There was a nervy wait for the 23-year-old's gold medal to be confirmed when Canada's Patricia Bezzoubenko appealed against her score, but it was rejected and the celebrations began.
Mr Jones said: "I'll never experience anything like it again and I never have before, it's wonderful. It means everything, she worked so hard, she deserves it."
