Alzheimer's sufferers 'can still have a great life'

2 July 2014 Last updated at 14:45 BST

A woman says people like her with Alzheimer's disease can still have a great life if they refuse to give in to dementia.

Joyce Baker's comments come as the Alzheimer's Society in Wales claims too many people are being left without support after they are diagnosed with the illness.

The charity said the Welsh government had shown a commitment to improving things by funding information packs, but claimed that support from local health boards varied widely across the country.

Paul Heaney reports.
