Mohammed Sarul Islam: Jihad Britons 'brainwashed'

23 June 2014 Last updated at 10:09 BST

The mother of one of two men from Cardiff identified in a recruitment video for the extremist Islamist group, ISIS, says he must have been brainwashed.

She described Reyaad Khan, who is 20 and from Cardiff, as "one of the best boys a mother could ever want".

Mohammed Sarul Islam, a former councillor, knows the family and says they have felt desperate.

He says the families think their sons may have been tricked into going to Syria then brainwashed when they got there.
