Solva taken over for Under Milkwood filming

23 June 2014 Last updated at 08:55 BST

The first day of filming begins on the new movie version of Under Milk Wood in the tiny harbour village of Solva, in Pembrokeshire,, which will star Rhys Ifans as First Voice.

The only other film version of Dylan Thomas's famous radio play was made in Fishguard in 1971, and had Richard Burton in the lead role.

Filming is due to take six weeks, and - just as it was in Fishguard - dozens of people from the village and surrounding area have been cast as extras.

Radio Wales' Sarah Moore has been meeting the wider cast.
