Family of disabled grandchild lose spare bedroom fight

30 May 2014 Last updated at 14:04 BST

The family of a severely disabled teenager from Pembrokeshire have lost their High Court challenge against housing benefit cuts because they have a spare bedroom.

Paul and Susan Rutherford, of Clunderwen, say they need the room because it is used by carers who look after their 14-year-old grandson Warren overnight.

But a judge rejected their challenge because Pembrokeshire council currently makes up their benefit shortfall.

Nicola Smith reports.
