Britain's Got Talent Jodi Bird beats 'bored' Simon Cowell

19 May 2014 Last updated at 07:40 BST

A 16-year-old from Penarth has spoken about the rough ride she was given by a "bored" Simon Cowell when she appeared on ITV's Britain's Got Talent television show.

Jodi Bird, a Year 11 pupil at Ysgol Gyfun Bro Morgannwg, was stopped by Cowell 10 seconds into her rendition of Don't Rain On My Parade.

After asking her to sing another song, she won the backing of the crowd and the other judges to make it through to the next round.

Jodi told BBC Wales reporter Iolo James she was "freaking out" when she was stopped but looking back said Cowell was a "good critic".
