£3m restoration for Penllergare estate, Swansea

23 April 2014 Last updated at 14:49 BST

The Penllergare estate in Swansea, designed in the 1830s and featuring more than 200 acres of landscaped woods and gardens, is being restored.

The grounds of the mansion had become neglected and vandalised in recent years.

Now the country park is being given a £3m facelift, and that includes the preservation of one of Wales' most intriguing buildings.

Carwyn Jones reports.
