Rohan Rhodes baby inquest: Parents to take legal action

26 February 2014 Last updated at 20:36 GMT

The parents of a severely premature baby from Pembrokeshire say they will take legal action against the health trust in charge of the hospital where he died.

Rohan Rhodes was transferred to St Michael's Hospital, in Bristol, for specialist heart surgery but died less than two days later.

A coroner investigating his death said staff "lost opportunities" to check on his condition before he died when they failed to carry out blood tests.

A narrative conclusion was recorded at Flax Bourton Coroner's Court.

The hospital trust said a safety check system has since been introduced.

Paul Heaney reports.
