Western Power Distribution braced for 70mph winds

Power engineers are on standby amid weather warnings of 70mph winds in south Wales.

The Met Office has issued an amber "be prepared" warning for strong winds with a yellow "be aware" rain warning in place until Saturday.

Electricity distribution network operator Western Power Distribution, based in Cardiff, says it gearing up to deal with affected power supplies.
