Missing Nida Naseer 'depressed' before vanishing, says family

3 February 2014 Last updated at 13:15 GMT

Missing teenager Nida Naseer was deeply depressed for two years before disappearing, her family has said.

The Pakistan-born 19-year-old from Pill, Newport, was also jealous of a friend who had been granted asylum and allowed to attend university.

Nida's family had been refused asylum and she was not therefore able to attend university. Nida disappeared on 28 December last year.

Nida's sister Shamyla Naseer spoke to reporter Jordan Davies.
