'Slavery' case: Family of Sian Davies tell of 'indoctrination'

The cousin of a woman from Ceredigion who belonged to a Maoist commune in south London being investigated by police for alleged slavery has accused its members of turning her against her family.

Sian Davies from Tregaron died in 1997 after more than two decades with the activists.

Police told the family she had fallen from a window at the group's house and died months later.

Emyr Morgan said members of the group wrongly claimed his cousin was in India when she was in fact in hospital.

He told reporter Elin Gwilym that Ms Davies had effectively disappeared after joining the commune in the mid 1970s, devoting her life and her money to its cause.
