Bute Park artefacts shed light on 16th Century Cardiff

Experts say they have found significant archaeological finds while excavating an old stream next to Cardiff Castle.

More than 3,000 individual pieces of pottery, jewellery and leather have been discovered buried in the silt, unseen for over 300 years.

Archaeologists say it will shed light on a little known part of Cardiff's history in the 16th and 17th centuries.
