Driver dies as car crashes into shop at Ogmore Vale

Police are appealing for the occupants of a minibus to come forward after a 47-year-old man died when his car crashed into a shop.

The collision happened at Walters Road, Ogmore Vale, Bridgend county, at around 02:00 BST on Saturday.

The driver, a 47-year-old local man, was behind the wheel of an X-registration blue Ford Focus car.

Police want to speak to the occupants of a minibus which is believed to have arrived at the scene after the crash.

Officers are also appealing for other witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the South Wales Police roads policing unit at Gwaelod-y-Garth on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

The road was closed for around seven hours after the incident.
