Wrexham unmarked police car fire treated as arson

An unmarked police car has been set alight outside a police station in Wrexham.

North Wales Police said they were treating the incident at Cefn Mawr at around 17:15 BST on Wednesday as arson.

No-one was injured in the incident. No arrests have been made.

A police force spokesman said: "There was no damage to other property. The vehicle is an unmarked North Wales Police Vauxhall Corsa and appears to be seriously damaged."

He added: "We had a call from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service regarding a car on fire at the front of Cefn Mawr police station.

"There is no obvious cause. A forensic examination of the vehicle is being conducted..

"We would appeal for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to contact North Wales Police by telephoning 101."
