Snowdon walker airlifted to hospital with broken ankle

A walker has been airlifted to hospital after breaking his ankle in a fall on Snowdon.

The 50-year-old man had been walking along the Llanberis Path when he tripped on Saturday evening near the Halfway House cafe.

A Sea King helicopter from RAF Valley on Anglesey flew to the scene and took the walker to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.

Llanberis Path is the longest of the six main paths to the summit of Snowdon.
