An inquest into the deaths of a woman and her baby girl near Merthyr Tydfil has been opened and adjourned.

The bodies of Joanne Thomas, 27, and four-month-old Harper were found at a house in Troedyrhiw on 3 July.

On Thursday, Aberdare Coroner's Court heard that post mortem examinations have taken place, but no details of their results were given.

South Wales Police are not treating the deaths as suspicious, but investigations continue.
