2011 Fforestfach fire: Directors admit tyre offence

Help

Two company directors have admitted storing more than 5,500 tonnes of waste tyres without a permit at a factory where a fire burned for three weeks.

The blaze at the former Mettoys site in Fforestfach, Swansea, was in 2011.

Globally Greener Solutions directors Scott Phillips, Dorothy Thomas and Peter Thomas were due to stand trial at Swansea Crown Court on Monday.

But Phillips and Peter Thomas changed pleas, while formal not guilty verdicts were recorded against Dorothy Thomas.

The footage shows images of the fire at the time.
