Wales health reforms: Protesters unit to fight Betsi Cadwaladr changes

Campaigners against plans for radical changes to the health service in north Wales are considering a legal challenge to the proposals.

At a meeting in St Asaph on Monday, a group called the North Wales Health Alliance was formed.

It will oppose the plans which Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board says are needed to meet cost-cutting targets and to provide effective health care in the future.

Mabon ap Gwynfor, a convenor with the newly-formed alliance, told Huw Thomas of BBC Radio Wales they felt it was time to join forces to fight the changes.
