Herschel telescope unlock's sky's secrets


Millions of us have been tuning in to BBC2's Stargazing Live series, exploring the wonders of the night sky.

Key to unlocking the secrets of the stars has been the Herschel space telescope, one million miles above earth, and scientists at Cardiff University have been playing a key role in its development.

They explained to Carwyn Jones how they helped in the development of the camera for the telescope - and their work on new sensitive instruments for extreme conditions.
