Eileen Younghusband, 91, honoured with BEM for education campaign
A 91-year-old woman who helped campaign against cuts in adult education in Cardiff has been awarded a British Empire Medal.
Eileen Younghusband, from Sully in the Vale of Glamorgan, was honoured in the the 2013 New Year honours for services to lifelong learning.
She is passionate about adult education after gaining a degree at the age of 87.
Mrs Younghusband previously wrote a book about her experiences a codebreaker in World War II, during which she received a coded message that the first V2 rocket had been launched against Britain.
