New board set up to run professional rugby in Wales

The Welsh Rugby Union and the regions have formed a new body intended to develop the game in Wales.

It follows an independent financial report commissioned by the union.

The Professional Regional Game Board will bring together the union and the regions with an independent chair and will start work in December.

The deal comes on a day when the Wales flanker Dan Lydiate announced he is leaving the Dragons, with France the likely destination.

BBC Wales rugby correspondent Gareth Charles reports.
