Last typewriter comes off production line in Wrexham

Help

The last typewriter to be produced in Britain has come off the production line at a factory in Wrexham.

Brother has been making typewriters at its factory in Ruabon since 1985 and since then has produced well over five million machines.

The final Brother CM1000 typewriter to be completed is destined for a special home: the Science Museum in London where it will feature in a collection of over two hundred typewriters produced over the last one hundred and 30 years.

Reporter Rob Thomas has been along to the Brother factory to mark the end of an era.
