Former BBC governor calls for BBC Trust to be scrapped

A former BBC governor for Wales has called for the BBC Trust to be scrapped in the wake of the resignation of the director general, George Entwistle.

The trust is body that oversees the work of the BBC.

Sir Roger Jones said the system for overseeing the corporation should revert to a board of governors, which was the model in place until 2007.

Arts and media correspondent Huw Thomas reports, while Richard Sambrook, a former head of BBC News and now a lecturer at Cardiff Journalism School, speaks to Jamie Owen in the studio.
