Three saved from upturned boat off Fort Belan, Caernarfon

Three people who were spotted clinging to the hull of an upturned boat have been brought to safety.

They were spotted in the waters off Fort Belan near Caernarfon, Gwynedd by people on shore.

Holyhead Coastguard said the three were waving their oars to attract attention when they were seen and the alarm raised on Sunday afternoon.

It is believed the three were not wearing life jackets. They were not injured.

Llandwrog coastguard and Beaumaris lifeboat team went to their aid.

A spokesman for Holyhead Coastguard said they were given appropriate advice.
