Party members have gathered in Birmingham for the Conservative Party Conference.

Conservative MP for Preseli Pembrokeshire Stephen Crabb, who is at the conference, said what is needed is a strong message right from the top of government on the need to press on with economic reform so that the economy is turned around.

He joined Times columnist, writer and broadcaster, Matthew Parris, on BBC Radio Wales' Sunday Supplement programme.

Presenter Vaughan Roderick began by suggesting to Matthew Parris that the conference was being held during a time of many distractions.
