Local residents vow to continue search for missing April Jones

Police hunting for missing five-year-old April Jones have announced that they have arrested local man Mark Bridger, 46, on suspicion of murdering her.

Her disappearance from her home in Machynlleth, west Wales, on Monday evening prompted hundreds of members of the community turn out to join the search for her.

At a news conference, Dyfed-Powys Police thanked the volunteer searchers, but said that the "dynamics of the search have now changed" and it was no longer appropriate for them to continue.

But local resident Stephen Doyle said he and others would not give up the search for her.
