A new Confucius Institute has been opened at Bangor University.

The institutes, named after China's most famous philosopher, are supported by the Chinese government and are designed to spread awareness about Chinese culture.

First Minister Carwyn Jones said he hoped it would boost links between Wales and China, but for the university it reflects the importance of Chinese students.

Rob Thomas reports.
