Welsh health survey: One in three take no exercise

The organisers of London 2012 say they want to inspire a generation to take up sport and exercise.

That is badly needed, according to a Welsh Health Survey, that says one in three of people in Wales do not do any exercise.

Health guidelines say people should do 30 minutes of exercise at least five times every week to help prevent and manage a range of chronic illnesses.

But not enough people are doing it, and the situation has not improved since the previous survey 10 years ago.

Ashleigh Crowter reports.
