March backs Llanelli hospital
About 80 people turned out for a march and rally in Llanelli in memory of two railway workers who were killed 101 years ago, and to protest against proposed changes to the A&E department at Prince Philip Hospital.
Hywel Dda Health board has proposed that the A&E department be replaced by an accident centre staffed by nurses.
Labour AM Keith Davies said Hywel Dda Health Board and Health Minister Lesley Griffiths had to listen to the opinions of the public.
But he said if there was no other choice but to downgrade the department, he wanted to see doctors in charge of the new treatment unit rather than nurses only.
The board has promised a £40m investment for community centres.
