NHS Wales sees summer rise in 'inappropriate' 999 calls
The Welsh Ambulance Service and A&E departments across Wales have faced "sustained and unusual" demand over the summer, according to Wales' acting chief medical officer Dr Chris Jones.
Dr Jones has warned inappropriate 999 calls and an increased attendance at A&E are putting the NHS under strain.
Calls include a man wanting ointment rubbed on his back and a woman bitten on her finger by a hamster.
