Boy caught in boat propeller off Porthmadog, Gwynedd
A 13-year-old boy suffered a serious leg injury after he was caught in a speedboat's propeller, say coastguards.
The teenager was brought ashore at Porthmadog, Gwynedd, following the incident at around 15:00 BST.
Holyhead coastguard said at least four other people were in the boat and they gave him first aid until they arrived on land, where paramedics met them.
The youngster was taken by ambulance to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor. His condition is not known.
The air ambulance was called to the scene along with a land-based coastguard team.
A coastguard spokesman said the people in the boat were "out for a roam".
He said: "We don't know what happened."
The alarm was raised by mobile phone and the boat made for Porthmadog as it was the nearest harbour, he said.
