Farmer killed by bull on farm in Builth Wells, Powys

A farmer has been killed by a bull on a farm in Powys, it has emerged.

Arthur Thomas, 74, was loading the animal into a trailer when it crushed him in Builth Wells on 19 July.

Dyfed-Powys Police said they were called to the farm after reports the man was injured but despite medical help he died shortly afterwards.

The force said that firearms officers destroyed the bull for the "protection and safety of the wider public". An inquest has been opened and adjourned.

The Health and Safety Executive has also been informed.
