Haverfordwest river pair rescued by emergency services

Two people have been rescued after falling into a river in a Pembrokeshire town, say emergency services.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to Bridge Meadow Lane in Haverfordwest at just after 19:30 BST on Monday.

A spokesperson said the pair were pulled out of the water near the Pembrokeshire council headquarters.

Firefighters used throw lines to get the two people out - although boats were put on stand-by.
