TV pundit Jonathan Davies works at rugby league game despite arm fractures

Jonathan Davies fractured both arms near the elbow after falling off a bike

BBC rugby pundit and former Wales international Jonathan Davies co-commentated on a rugby league game despite having fractures in both arms.

Davies, 49, said: "I just fell off my bike and landed on both my arms and the shock went up my arms. It was painful."

But the spill did not stop him from attending a wedding the same day and continuing with work commitments, although he is not wearing any casts.

He said: "They are just fractures. You have got to get on with it."

Presenter Clare Balding had told viewers of Davies' injury and said he'd been "extremely brave" to climb a ladder to the commentary box.

Davies, who played both league and union for Wales, was working on the Warrington Wolves' win over Huddersfield Giant in the Challenge Cup semi-final on BBC2 on Sunday 15 July.

He was practising for a charity bike ride for the cancer centre of which he is president, when he fell.
