Mickey Rourke on Gareth 'Alfie' Thomas rugby star movie

Help

Hollywood star Mickey Rourke says his film about the life of former Wales rugby captain Gareth 'Alfie' Thomas will be ready to shoot in February.

Rourke was talking to BBC Wales in Newport at a gala dinner in aid of Thomas's foundation for music and sport.

He says 80% of the money is in place for the biopic about Thomas, who came out as gay in 2009.

The American actor also talks about how he is getting an ear for Welsh accents.

Thomas says the foundation, which offers access to music and sport to disadvantaged youngsters, is as important to him as his rugby career.
