Delay after man hurt on rail line at Prestatyn

A man suffered minor injuries when he was hit by a train in Denbighshire causing service delays in north Wales.

The incident happened near to Prestatyn station on Monday at about 05:00 BST causing delays of about 45 minutes between Holyhead and Chester throughout the morning.

British Transport Police said the man was taken to hospital by paramedics with superficial facial injuries.

Officers are investigating the incident which is not regarded as suspicious.

Arriva Trains Wales reported services had return to normal later in the morning via its website.
