Fire crews tackle blaze at flats in Butetown, Cardiff

Fifteen people are evacuated from a block of flats in Butetown, Cardiff, following a fire.

Firefighters have tackled a blaze at a block of flats in the Butetown area of Cardiff.

They were called to the three-storey block in South Loudoun Place at 07:37 BST. The fire had spread throughout the flat and the roof was also alight.

Fifteen people were led from the building. No-one was reported injured.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said five crews went to the scene. The blaze was brought under control before 09:00 BST.

Three fire crews remain at the scene.

Six fire officers wearing breathing apparatus tackled the flames.
