Delays after train hits four cows in the Vale of Glamorgan

Trains heading between Bridgend and Cardiff faced delays and cancellations after a train hit four cows at a level crossing in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The incident happened in the village of St George's just before 17:00 BST and involved an Arriva Trains Wales train.

Nobody on the train was injured but Arriva Trains Wales' website said the service along the line faced delays.

Engineers went to the track to assess the damage, help move the train and get the passengers to safety.
