Cardiff South and Penarth MP Alun Michael wants to radically change the age at which people can vote.
Some politicians already favour lowering it to 16, but he wants to go further and reduce it to 14.
He explained his reasoning to Vaughan Roderick on Radio Wales' Sunday Supplement programme.
