Local elections: Dead heat sees lots drawn in Greenmeadow, Torfaen

Local election drama in Torfaen saw one councillor elected by drawing lots as votes were level after a recount.

Torfaen Labour council leader Bob Wellington had already been elected in one of two seats in the Greenmeadow ward.

But despite two recounts for the second seat, Labour's Mandy Owen and independent Catherine Lewis could not be separated.

So the winner was chosen by drawing Ms Owen's name from a ballot box. Ms Owen is pictured closest to the camera in the video.

Labour took control of Torfaen council with 30 seats, with independent parties second with eight.
