Aneurin Bevan Health Board in first data breach fine
A Welsh health board has become the first NHS organisation to be fined following a serious breach of the Data Protection Act.
The Aneurin Bevan Health Board, which covers much of south east Wales, has been issued with a £70,000 penalty after a sensitive report containing details about a patient's health was sent to a former patient with a similar name.
Deputy Commissioner David Smith, from the Information Commissioner's Office, explains to Jamie Owen why the fine was imposed.
