M4 Newport: £550m road widening plan proposed

Help

Radical plans for two new tunnels aimed at easing congestion on the M4 around Newport in south Wales are among proposals published by the Welsh government.

The new tunnels at Brynglas would enable a nine-mile (14.5km) stretch of the existing motorway to be widened - at a cost of around £550m.

Nick Palit reports.
